Foreign, local farm experts at PSAE annual meet

Foreign and local agriculture experts will share their views on sustainable and green agriculture during the 66th annual convention of the Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers (PSAE) on April 24-30 at the Mariano Marcos State University in Batac City, Ilocos Norte.

The conference, with the theme “Agricultural Engineers in the Realm of Sustainable Green Technology,” coincides with PSAE’s 13th International Agricultural Engineering Conference and Exhibition and 27th Philippine Agricultural Engineering Week.

Vice presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will deliver the keynote address on Tuesday.

“Through this conference and exhibition, the PSAE can discuss and even recommend solutions to make the country’s agriculture sector more sustainable and able to sustain the security needs of the Philippines,” Genaro Tolentino, PSAE president said.

Tolentino added that PSAE’s mission is “to harness the potential of agricultural engineers for agriculture and fisheries modernization and social, political and economic development of the country.”

The PSAE was founded in 1950 to advance the theory and practice of agricultural engineering. A non-profit professional organization registered with Securities and Exchange Commission, it is the only accredited national group of about 7,000 licensed agricultural engineers by the Professional Regulatory Commission that can be mobilized for the provision of professional and technical services provided under the Philippine Agricultural Engineering Act of 1998.
