(by AEBadua  4/22/2016)

Around 600 agricultural engineers will convene in Batac City, Ilocos Norte this April 24-30 to tackle the long term feasibility of renewable energy options and related green technologies in agriculture and fishery sectors.
This weeklong affair in Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), spearheaded by the Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers (PSAE), brings together three major events: 13th International Agricultural Engineering Conference and Exhibition (13IAECE), 66th PSAE Annual National Convention (66PSAEANC) and 27th Agricultural Engineering Week (27AEW). This year’s theme is “Agricultural engineers in the realm of sustainable green technology.”
A number of leading industry practitioners will present input papers in various plenary sessions on agriculture and fishery mechanization program, agricultural and biosystems engineering roadmap, renewable energy systems (such as wind, water and biomass), resource mapping using light detection and ranging (LIDAR) technology, as well as advances in climate-agricultural and remote sensing.
There will also be technical papers, posters and technology exhibits on the recent advances and trends in the major fields of agricultural engineering like crop processing and structures, soil and water engineering, farm power and machinery.

The PSAE will also lay down some institutional development initiatives such as business meeting, election and recognition rites for best paper, poster and outstanding agricultural engineers.
On April 25, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will administer onsite renewal of professional license.

The other side events of the conference include motorcade, sportsfest and tour of Ilocos wind power and other notable tourism sites.
